Camera differences

The Birdfy Feeder 2 uses one front camera with a single 1080p wide-angle lens.

The Feeder 2 Pro keeps the 1080p wide-angle lens and adds a 2K portrait lens. Birdfy says the portrait lens tracks and frames birds and supports high-frame-rate footage that can be edited into slow motion.

The Feeder 2 Duo uses the Pro-style 1080p wide-angle and 2K portrait front system, then adds a separate 1080p side camera. That makes two camera modules and three lenses in total.

Power and solar

  • Feeder 2: one 9000mAh rechargeable battery; a 3W solar panel is optional and bundle-dependent.
  • Feeder 2 Pro: one 9000mAh rechargeable battery; a 3W solar panel is included.
  • Feeder 2 Duo: two camera batteries rated at 9000mAh each; a 5W solar panel is included.

Storage and Wi-Fi

All three models connect over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and use cloud-based recordings. Birdfy's Feeder 2 Series documentation says MicroSD playback and storage are not supported, so none of these models should be treated as a local-storage option.

Birdfy documents 30-day retention for included cloud recordings. Longer retention and expanded storage can depend on the current membership plan.

AI and subscriptions

Birdfy's current Free membership includes 10 AI bird recognitions per day, 30-day Moment cloud retention, Moment videos up to 20 seconds, and 5 GB of Collection storage. Paid Plus and Pro upgrades can add unlimited AI recognition and expanded storage or retention. Paid membership is not required for basic live viewing or ordinary feeder operation.

  • Feeder 2: its current product page describes a 7-day AI trial followed by subscription, while Free membership provides limited daily recognition.
  • Feeder 2 Pro: AI access can vary by the specific SKU or offer and the membership terms attached to it.
  • Feeder 2 Duo: its current product page advertises lifetime AI, subject to firmware and service terms.

Birdfy's broader 2026 support documentation says newer products are moving away from the older Lifetime/Subscription labels toward memberships. Check the exact AI and membership terms shown for the SKU you are buying.

What you are paying extra for

  • Feeder 2: the single-camera configuration with one 1080p wide-angle lens and optional solar.
  • Feeder 2 Pro: adds the 2K portrait lens and includes a 3W solar panel.
  • Feeder 2 Duo: adds the 1080p side camera and uses a larger included 5W solar setup.

These are hardware and offer differences, not a ranking. The price snapshots above reflect what Birdfy displayed on October 2, 2026 and may have changed.
